James Drug Store of Denham Springs, LA has the kind of rich history that only a business that's served its community for almost 90 years can have. From the Great Depression, World War II, the eradication of Polio, 4 LSU Tiger Football National Championships, and now the fight against COVID-19, the pharmacy has been there to support their town through the ups, the downs, and everything in between. By staying on the forefront of pharmacy technology and providing excellent patient care, the team at James Drug Store has blended the old with the new to create something great. We spoke with pharmacist in charge Patrick Brian to learn how James Drug Store puts their motto, "where old-fashioned personal service meets modern day medicine" into action.

To say pharmacists and pharmacy technicians have had an eventful few years would be a huge understatement. The fight against COVID-19 has consistently put pharmacies in the spotlight, with pharmacy professionals carrying much of the burden of COVID testing and vaccination. Despite a list of tasks and challenges that seems to grow by the day, pharmacists and techs continue to show up for their patients and provide the critical care their communities need.

Even before the pandemic hit, the FLAVORx team knew we needed a way to thank pharmacy professionals for all that they do. That's why we created the Care Force, as a way to celebrate pharmacy workers who go above and beyond for their patients with not only their flavoring program, but in all aspects of their job. The program has grown to almost 500 pharmacists and technicians who represent pharmacies all around the United States. During National Pharmacy Week, we're so proud to recognize our Care Force Captains who continue to make a real difference for their patients every single day!

Ladue Pharmacy serves as a one-stop shop where the people of St Louis, MO can go to for all of their pharmacy needs, uncommon gifts, and an all-around great experience. The pharmacy has been in business for 22 years under the current ownership and is made up of 30 employees ranging from pharmacists to store merchandisers. 

In addition to important pharmacy services like compounding, med sync, local delivery, medication packaging, immunizations, and one-on-one consultations, they also have extensive gift, toy, and cosmetic departments that are always fully stocked with up-to-date goodies. 

Pharmacy owner Rick Williams and his team took some time to share the personal touches that make their pharmacy so special. "We think of entering our store as an experience, as soon as you walk in someone will greet you and lead you where you need to go." He added, "We also make our pharmacists available to each of our patients. Any questions or concerns they have, a pharmacist is there to talk to them."

For over sixty years, the people of El Paso, TX have trusted Alameda Thrifty Pharmacy with their health. Not only do they provide a full array of important services, the pharmacy team also treats patients like members of their "phamily." Without a doubt, the Alameda Thrifty staff truly cares for the community they serve. El Paso pride even shines through in the pharmacy's logo which features the mountains that ring the city complete with the El Paso Star. Dr. Laura Quijas, Pharm.D. gave us some insight into how the pharmacy started and how far they've come today.

When FLAVORx first began 28 years ago, we were a small company with a big idea about helping kids take their medicine. We would never be where we are today without the pharmacies that believed in our mission since the very beginning. Apple Discount Drugs, located on Maryland's Eastern Shore, is one of those pharmacies that has been with us since we got started in 1995 and is still one of our valued partners to this day.

We spoke with Marketing Director Tish Withers, who gave us some insight on what makes this local pharmacy so special and what FLAVORx means to their pharmacy. As we celebrate our 28th anniversary, we'd like to take a moment to spotlight this pharmacy that has been with us throughout this journey.
