To say pharmacists and pharmacy technicians have had an eventful few years would be a huge understatement. The fight against COVID-19 has consistently put pharmacies in the spotlight, with pharmacy professionals carrying much of the burden of COVID testing and vaccination. Despite a list of tasks and challenges that seems to grow by the day, pharmacists and techs continue to show up for their patients and provide the critical care their communities need.

Even before the pandemic hit, the FLAVORx team knew we needed a way to thank pharmacy professionals for all that they do. That's why we created the Care Force, as a way to celebrate pharmacy workers who go above and beyond for their patients with not only their flavoring program, but in all aspects of their job. The program has grown to almost 500 pharmacists and technicians who represent pharmacies all around the United States. During National Pharmacy Week, we're so proud to recognize our Care Force Captains who continue to make a real difference for their patients every single day!

As kids head back to school, it’s inevitable that families will be stuck dealing with the bugs that pop up this time of year, including strep throat, bacterial infections, and the flu. Along with those illnesses comes the stress many parents experience when their children resist taking the medicine they need to get better. We’ve put together a few simple tips and tricks pharmacy professionals can share with parents to help kids take the medicine they need to get them healthy and back to school.

Ladue Pharmacy serves as a one-stop shop where the people of St Louis, MO can go to for all of their pharmacy needs, uncommon gifts, and an all-around great experience. The pharmacy has been in business for 22 years under the current ownership and is made up of 30 employees ranging from pharmacists to store merchandisers. 

In addition to important pharmacy services like compounding, med sync, local delivery, medication packaging, immunizations, and one-on-one consultations, they also have extensive gift, toy, and cosmetic departments that are always fully stocked with up-to-date goodies. 

Pharmacy owner Rick Williams and his team took some time to share the personal touches that make their pharmacy so special. "We think of entering our store as an experience, as soon as you walk in someone will greet you and lead you where you need to go." He added, "We also make our pharmacists available to each of our patients. Any questions or concerns they have, a pharmacist is there to talk to them."

Here at FLAVORx for Pets, we love learning about our customers and finding out how passionate they are about helping their patients. The team at Kennesaw Mountain Animal Hospital wowed us with their dedication to the health and comfort of their patients, and we're excited to share their story! Best known for their family atmosphere, the KMAH team strives to provide both patients and clients with exceptional care. We spoke with Tina Payton, the hospital's Marketing Specialist, who told us all about their amazing team, the benefit of fear-free veterinary care, and how they use the FLAVORx program to help their patients. 

Back to school is almost here, and for pharmacies that can mean more parents with sick kids in need of medicine. There are many bugs out there, both bacterial and viral, that will be sending kids to the doctor's office in need of medicine once they head back to school including strep throat, ear infections, sinus infections, and the flu.   

When a child gets sick, it's important that they take their medicine as prescribed. Missed doses or an unfinished regimen can cause a longer illness, which means more missed school and activities, higher likelihood of disease spread, and one unhappy kiddo. A study completed over 2018-2019 found that 58% of children missed between 1 and 6 days of school due to illness or injury. 

Luckily, pharmacy professionals have an effective, easy solution up their sleeves to help kids take their medicine the way it needs to be taken.
