There are many bugs out there, both bacterial and viral, that will be sending kids to the doctor's office in need of medicine once they head back to school including strep throat, ear infections, sinus infections, and the flu.      When a child gets sick, it's important that they take their medicine as prescribed. Missed doses or an unfinished regimen can cause a longer illness, which means more missed school and activities, higher likelihood of disease spread, and one unhappy kiddo. A study completed over 2018-2019 found that [58%](https://www.childhealthdata.org/browse/survey/results?q=7840&r=1) of children missed between 1 and 6 days of school due to illness or injury.    Luckily, pharmacy professionals have an effective, easy solution up their sleeves to help kids take their medicine the way it needs to be taken. By adding a favorite flavor, they can help improve the taste of hundreds of medications and help kids feel better faster. We've put together this list to help you prepare for some of the most important medicines to flavor now that kids are back in school:   [Read More](https://blog.flavorx.com/blog/top-5-medicines-to-flavor-during-back-to-school)   1 Comments [Click here to read/write comments](https://blog.flavorx.com/blog/top-5-medicines-to-flavor-during-back-to-school#comments) Topics: [Adherence, Compliance, and Health](https://blog.flavorx.com/blog/topic/adherence-compliance-and-health)     ## [How to Help Children Take Liquid Medicine](https://blog.flavorx.com/blog/how-to-help-children-take-liquid-medicine) Posted by [Caitlin Taylor](https://blog.flavorx.com/blog/author/caitlin-taylor) Aug 5, 2021, 8:19:00 AM - [Tweet](https://twitter.com/share) [![](https://blog.flavorx.com/hubfs/Medicap%20Square.jpg)](https://blog.flavorx.com/blog/how-to-help-children-take-liquid-medicine) Problems giving a child medicine can be the stuff of nightmares for parents. No one wants to be the one attempting to give medicine to a screaming, writhing child who is determined to keep their lips locked shut, only to have them spit the medicine out. It's a common problem that all too many people face; [60% of parents](https://ceinsider.org/FLAVORX/?web=1&wdLOR=c2DA19344-FB8E-4682-ABAB-7CA85F461DCC) report that medicine-time with their kids is highly stressful.   [Read More](https://blog.flavorx.com/blog/how-to-help-children-take-liquid-medicine)   0 Comments [Click here to read/write comments](https://blog.flavorx.com/blog/how-to-help-children-take-liquid-medicine#comments) Topics: [Adherence, Compliance, and Health](https://blog.flavorx.com/blog/topic/adherence-compliance-and-health)     ## [Alameda Thrifty Pharmacy, Where Everyone is Part of the Family](https://blog.flavorx.com/blog/alameda-thrifty-pharmacy) Posted by [Caitlin Taylor](https://blog.flavorx.com/blog/author/caitlin-taylor) Jul 22, 2021, 8:41:26 AM - [Tweet](https://twitter.com/share) [![](https://blog.flavorx.com/hubfs/Alameda%20Thrifty%205.jpg)](https://blog.flavorx.com/blog/alameda-thrifty-pharmacy) For over sixty years, the people of El Paso, TX have trusted [Alameda Thrifty Pharmacy](https://stores.healthmart.com/AlamedaThriftyPharmacy/stores.aspx) with their health.
