FLAVORx Donates Over 150 Flavoring Systems to Pharmacy Schools and Pharmacy Technician Programs; Flavoring Information Now Included in Popular Pharmacy Textbook

FLAVORx provides pharmacy schools and technician programs with the tools and resources necessary to educate students about the role of flavoring with respect to medication adherence and the patient experience. Using the FLAVORx system, faculty members encourage their students to recognize the importance of taste barriers and personalization when it comes to pediatric medication adherence.

I recently had the pleasure of reading a great book and I wanted to share it with you. FLAVORx has a close relationship with Elliott M. Sogol, the co-author of The Good Pharmacist. Perhaps you are familiar with this book already, but if not, know that this engaging read has been well-received by the pharmacy community and is a great reference for existing and future pharmacists. This book not only highlights the key qualities and identifies the main challenges, but ultimately encourages pharmacists to ask themselves if they are doing everything they can to be a “good pharmacist.”

Just recently, I was a Career Day presenter at my son’s elementary school and it was a fantastic experience! I was there to teach the kids all about the wonderful world of pharmacy and highlight some of my specific responsibilities as a pharmacist at FLAVORx. The kids loved my presentation and eagerly absorbed the information.

Kid-friendly medication flavoring system is now part of the curriculum in majority of schools of pharmacy in the United States.

FLAVORx, the company behind the pediatric medication flavoring service found in most U.S. retail pharmacies, recently donated it's 100th pediatric medication flavoring system to a pharmacy school in the United States. Pharmacy schools that now incorporate a flavoring lab into their curriculum include the likes of the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy, Harding University College of Pharmacy, Creighton University School of Pharmacy and Health Professions, Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine School of Pharmacy and the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Pharmacy.
